6th European Veterinary Congress of Behavioural Medicine and Animal Welfare

 Dear colleagues, 

We are pleased to recall that the 6thAnnual European Veterinary Congress of Behavioural Medicine and Animal Welfare (EVCBMAW) will take place on the 3rd-4th October 2023 in Paris (France). 

 The main topic will be An Interdisciplinary approach to Behavioural Medicine, Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law but all topics related to veterinary behavioural medicine, ethology, animal welfare, ethics and law are welcome. Animal welfare, as a specialty, is a subject that has its place in many different contexts. It can be found in urban planning, biodiversity management, human nutrition, scientific research, taxes, agricultural policy, human health, etc. This list is not exhaustive. 

Members of the ECAWBM, ESVCE, AWSELVA are fully aware of the position of animal welfare in the everyday life of the animals and humans. It is not only about animals themselves, but also about their relationships to their environment and other living species. Considerations to satisfy animals’ needs and expectations, such as food, bedding material, thermal comfort, positive interactions, activity, housing conditions and facilities, and many others, are included into the analysis of any animal situation from college members. What’s more, the place of animals in human life, their benefits but also the risks they run, are all elements we have learnt to come to terms with. 

The theme of this conference is an opportunity to show how your activities can integrate several disciplines. We aim also at promoting collaboration and integration of knowledge across different disciplines. 

 The deadline for abstract submission is set on 31st March. Submissions email address is: EVCBMAW2024@twobevents.fr

 Detailed information will be provided very soon on the website (currently under construction) that the international committee is preparing for 2024 and following EVCBMAW.

Please note that the study day of college BM&AWSEL will be held on 2nd October. 

Beside the poster teaser (2 minutes), we will invite you to participate in posters’ speed datings (presentations in small groups), organized to stimulate discussion and networking. Whether you wish to present your research or simply engage in enriching discussions, we need all of you to make this poster session a success! 

We hope to welcome you in Paris! , the City of Lights ! Take this congress’ opportunity to visit (selection of activities and preferential fees in preparation).
